About

What we believe

We keep this short and plain. If you want to talk any of it through, Pastor Belly Grace Ndongala would genuinely rather have the conversation in person — get in touch.

Draft — client approval required

This is a standard, widely-held statement of faith drafted for review. It is not published until the church signs it off, and this page carries noindex until it does. {{STATEMENT_OF_FAITH_APPROVAL}}

Ten things, plainly

The statement
of faith

Open any one of them. Nothing here is written to impress anyone — if a line raises a question, ask it.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, true and without error in all it affirms, and the final authority for what we believe and how we live.

(2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21)

God

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — equal in power and glory.

(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19)

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God: conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. He lived without sin, died on the cross in our place, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to the Father, and will return in power and glory.

(John 1:1–14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4)

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit lives in every believer, convicts, comforts, teaches and empowers us for life and for service, and gives gifts to the church for its building up.

(John 14:16–17; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11)

Humanity and sin

We believe every person is made in the image of God and has infinite worth — and that every person has sinned and is separated from God apart from Christ.

(Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23)

Salvation

We believe salvation is the gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone — not earned by anything we do.

(Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10)

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made of all who trust Him, gathered locally to worship, to grow, to serve and to carry the gospel to the world.

(Ephesians 1:22–23; Hebrews 10:24–25)

Baptism and Communion

We believe in baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith, and in the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of His death until He comes.

(Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26)

Prayer

We believe God hears and answers, and that this house is called to be a house of prayer for all people.

(Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 4:6–7)

Eternity

We believe in the bodily return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal life with God for all who trust Him.

(John 14:1–3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17)
